Lost Touch

‘Lost Touch’ is an illustrated collection of found messages in pre-loved books. Being an admirer of literature, I purchase most of my books second-hand in charity shops as I love the idea of previous owners having left their mark, either through ‘dog earring’ pages, annotations, and most excitingly… handwritten messages!

Being Inspired by the stories told, I have created this book,  bringing these messages to life through illustration.

When curating this collection, I visited many second-hand bookshops/ charity shops where I was able to form a collection of messages with narratives that inspire illustrations. Focusing on object and nostalgia, I then gathered imagery from stranger’s personalised messaged to loved ones, as well as reviving them for a contemporary audience.
