Working with Norwich History Festival for the second year, I designed and illustrated a 24 page brochure. The designs feature 8 figures which correspond and represent some of the events in the programme. These include Anne Boleyn, a punk, an American airman from WW2, a 1920s footballer, Miriam Makeba, a suffragette, a victorian archaeologist, and a viking.
Similar to the previous year, to keep the visual language of the theme consistent, I combined old and new ideas by mixing more traditional typefaces with bold contemporary letterforms to form the 2026 festival theme of ‘Why History Matters’.
See here for an article from Folk Features where I discuss the festival with some of the other team members.
